About Chris

Chris Croft is a Yoga Alliance certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher with over 700 hours of training in the UK, US, India, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Nepal. He teaches weekly classes, workshops, retreats and private one-to-one sessions across Devon, Somerset and South West England UK.

Although Chris is still a young man, his insightful wisdom has changed the lives of the people he has worked with. An award-winning international designer with a first class honours degree, he worked in the commercial world of product design for five years until illness forced him to explore deeper meaning to both life and work.

He began his yoga journey in 2002; not realizing that what at first seemed like a good way to keep fit would have such a profound effect on his physical mental and emotional wellbeing. After being guided to spend time in the Himalayas he realized his true path lay outside of design. So, when he returned to the UK he dedicated his life to helping and inspiring others to fulfil their potential and feel better about themselves.

Since leaving the commercial world of design in 2004, Chris has traveled to across Asia and North America practicing and teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. During that time he has been fortunate enough to study with inspirational teachers such as Neil Barker, Anthony ‘Prem’ Carlisi, Kathy Cooper, John Scott and Paul Dallaghan; as well as extended trips to study under the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath Rangaswamy in Mysore, India.

He has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga since 2005, after qualifying from certified Ashtanga teacher Paul Dallaghan’s Centered Yoga Institute in Thailand. Each year he undertakes further training and travels abroad for workshops and courses from the worlds foremost teaches. In 2011 he completed Richard Freeman's one month Teaching Intensive in Boulder, Colorado.

As a natural communicator his yoga teachings are filled with humour and inspiration.

Away from yoga, Chris continues to teach others self-empowerment through his pioneering work with the Enneagram – an ancient wisdom that unlocks the true potential of all life – and is currently co-authoring a revolutionary book on the subject.

Leading self-empowerment specialists Dr Wayne W. Dyer, Dr John Demartini, Esther & Jerry Hicks and Tony Robbins also influence his teachings.
